The rules for using Emerald, in plain language.
Draft. This document describes how Emerald is built to operate, but it has not been through legal review and is not a binding agreement. It must be reviewed by a qualified lawyer in each operating jurisdiction before Emerald accepts real money.
Emerald is a marketplace for Counter-Strike 2 in-game items. Emerald takes custody of items listed for sale, holds them in Steam accounts it controls, and delivers them to buyers through Steam trade offers.
Emerald is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation. Counter-Strike and CS2 are trademarks of Valve Corporation. Emerald has no control over Steam, and Valve may change the rules for trading items at any time.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must be the rightful owner of the Steam account you connect. One person, one account.
You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Emerald will never ask for your Steam password or Steam Guard code, and any message that does is not from us.
The price shown on a listing is the amount you are charged. Emerald does not add a buyer fee at checkout.
An order is confirmed only when Emerald’s payment provider confirms the payment to Emerald’s servers directly. An order is complete only when Emerald independently verifies with Steam that the item was transferred to you.
If Emerald cannot deliver an item you have paid for, the order is refunded in full to your Emerald balance.
Listing an item transfers it into Emerald’s custody. It remains your property, and you may delist it and have it returned at any time before it sells.
Emerald deducts its published commission from the sale price. Your payout is credited to your Emerald balance once the buyer’s trade is verified. See fees and payouts.
You may only list items you own and are entitled to sell. Listing items obtained through fraud, account theft, or chargebacks is prohibited and will result in the account being suspended.
Emerald may suspend an account where there is reasonable evidence of fraud, of items obtained illegitimately, or of any prohibited use above. Where an account is suspended, any items Emerald holds for that account are retained until the matter is resolved, and the account holder is told why.
Emerald depends on Steam for item transfers and on third parties for payments. Emerald is not responsible for Steam outages, Valve policy changes, trade holds imposed by Valve, or the loss of a Steam account through the account holder’s own credentials being compromised.
These terms may change. Material changes will be announced before they take effect, and continuing to use Emerald after that point means accepting them.
